Scandinavia has a long tradition of remembering our beloved one. During the Viking age, one thousand years ago, rune stones were crafted and erected by our ancestors.  The rune stones tell us about love and grief and adventures, of faraway travel and the courage of men and women.

Still after thousands of years of harsh climate, freezing temperatures, snow and ice, and warm summer nights, the rune stones are still standing portraying their message to generations after generations.

Materials

Edurus only use best of quality stones for our products. We provide 90% of the available granite colors, and other materials such as marble and limestone when desired.

Each granite may be processed in many various ways and combinations, providing stunning effects

Inlays
Edurus has developed a multitude of Intarsia inlays where granite in various colors is inserted into  a headstone. These pieces are not painted, it is simply the color of the granite. The granite pieces may be red, green, blue, yellow, pink, etc. Intarsia inlays could be applied to decor, family names or other design elements. The resulting decor or  text virtually lasts forever without having to be repainted or refurbished. Intarsia inlays may be ordered as an add-on to any of the stones produced by Edurus and may be of almost any size and design.

Designs and drawings

Our design team always creates a CAD drawing free of charge for all memorials to be produced.  This drawing is presented to the bereaved family and has to be approved before any production starts. Several iteration of the design is common where text and decor is finalized. There are no charges for this process.

Sculptures

The creative process starts with a design or an idea. Our design team assists in creating either clay models or 3D models for the specification stage to assert that all small details are taken care of. Once the 3D model or clay model is approved the sculpture is produced, carefully wrapped, packaged and shipped to its destination.

Production

After customer confirmation, the memorial is produced by a skilled team of workers. Quality and compliance controls are built into the process and supervised by the Edurus Tombsupply production system.  By using the latest technologies and control systems, production time is optimized and costs are kept low.

Packaging and shipping

All memorials are carefully wrapped in a tailor-made wooden crate for optimal protection during the shipment process. This also enables the memorial to be shipped anywhere  and with low costs.

Shipments are controlled and managed by Tombsupply -  the Edurus  internal IT system enabling full control of all containers and shipments regardless of where in the world the memorial is being shipped to.
